Fixes symptoms 
lf the temperature on your control panel displays incorrect temperature, your thermistor may need to be replaced. Thermistor often displays a temperature that is much too high when it reaches the end of its lifespan.

Replacing sensor, just follow these steps
1. Turn off the filter pump and all electrical power to the pool heater
Allow the heater to cool for at least 30 minutes before proceeding to the next step.
2. Unbolt and remove both the upper left and upper right jackets from the heater.
3. Disconnect the wires from the old indoor stack flue sensor
Remove the old sensor by turning it counter-clockwise with a ½" open end wrench.
4. Install new sensor sealing it with RTV sealant before threading it into the exhaust elbow.

Tip
1. Make sure the power is turned off and the heater as cooled for at least 30 minutes before replacing the new sensor.
2 Replacement Situation: When this part needs to be replaced, an E05 or E06 error code is usually displayed.To indicate that the chimney flue sensor must be replaced.
3. Location: The stack flue sensor is located within the heater on the black manifold next to the other sensors. The two wires connecting to the sensor will be plugged in when opening.
4. SFS Error: You should consider replacing this part when you see an SFS error indicator in the back of your control board OR if you see an E05 in the front of the Pentair Mastertemp Control board.
