A 12V 140 AMP Smart Dual Battery Isolator is a device that allows two batteries to be charged simultaneously while keeping them electrically isolated from each other. It is commonly used in vehicles with two batteries such as boats, RVs, and off-road vehicles.
The isolator is designed to prevent one battery from draining the other by ensuring that each battery is charged separately. This is achieved through the use of diodes or MOSFETs (Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor Field-Effect Transistors) that allow current to flow in one direction only, preventing any backflow of current between the batteries.
The "Smart" aspect of the isolator refers to its ability to sense the charging needs of the batteries and adjust the charging current accordingly. This ensures that each battery is charged optimally, without overcharging or undercharging, which can lead to reduced battery life.
Features of Dual Battery Isolator
1. Voltage Sensing: The isolator uses voltage sensing to detect when the engine is running and when the batteries need to be charged. It can sense the voltage of both batteries and adjust the charging current accordingly.
2. Sensitive Relay: The isolator uses a sensitive relay to control the charging process, which allows for faster and more efficient charging.
3. LED Indicators: The isolator has LED indicators that show the status of the batteries and the charging process, making it easy to monitor the charging process.
4. Compact Design: The battery isolators are designed to be compact and easy to install, making them a convenient addition to your vehicle.
5. High Amperage Rating: A Smart Dual Battery Isolator has a high amperage rating, allowing it to handle high current loads and power demanding accessories.

Please contact sales person for more details.
1. Locate a suitable location to install the relay. The relay should be mounted near the batteries, away from any heat sources.
2. Disconnect the negative battery cables from both batteries.
3. Connect the positive cable from the starting battery to the common post on the isolator relay.
4. Connect the positive cable from the auxiliary battery to the NO post on the isolator relay.
5. Connect the negative cable from the starting battery to the negative post on the auxiliary battery.
6. Connect the negative cable from the auxiliary battery to a good grounding point on the vehicle frame.
7. Install a fuse holder and fuse between the common post on the relay and the starting battery.
8. Reconnect the negative battery cables to both batteries.
9. Turn on the engine and test the isolator relay to ensure that it is working properly.
1. Camping and RVs: The isolator allows you to run electrical devices while camping without draining the battery used for starting the vehicle. This is particularly useful for camping trips lasting more than a few days.
2. Off-road vehicles: Off-road vehicles often require additional electrical power for lights, winches, and other accessories. The dual battery isolator allows you to power these devices without draining the battery used for starting the vehicle.
3. Marine applications: Boats often have multiple batteries to power different systems such as navigation, radios, and lights. The isolator ensures that each battery is charged independently and prevents one battery from draining the other.
4. Emergency vehicles: Emergency vehicles require reliable power sources for lights, radios, and other critical equipment. The dual battery isolator provides an additional layer of reliability by ensuring that each battery is charged independently.
